cOmPoSeR's NiGhT

Had fun last night at The Outpost for their composer's night. It was hosted by Jude Gitamondoc and my idol, Cattski was also there as one of his guests. I'm still a big fan of Cattski and I just love watching her perform. She sang Kismet last night with Ian Zafra. Bravo!!

It was my first time to really appreciate a Visayan love song. Arcelli Bullos beautifully interpreted "Bisan Pa", Jude's compo. If only the event was in a formal setup, then I would have given her a standing ovation. There was also a guest who sang an English love song composed by Jude for her wedding, and it was also brilliant. She sang like Jamie Rivera.

This is Ate Yen's pasalubong for me from her Orlando trip. It's a cutie and she didn't remove the tag! She actually wanted to prove that it's original and not just from the tiange at Bugis.

Hope this isn't yet the Christmas gift for me. :D

Our tree is ready for Christmas. :) I spent 3 hours last night putting up and decorating this tree. We wanted to have a specific theme but we had different colors of Poinsettia so I just had to mix n match it with the ribbons and the balls. I actually need more Christmas lights so it glows brightly at night. We are so ready for Christmas. :)

ThAiLaNd tRiP

My 5-day Thailand trip was really fun. I’m so grateful that Chanty and Jerome were there with me. The only boring part there was my 4-hour wait at the airport for my connecting flight, I’m just glad I had my itouch with me to keep me entertained.

Here are the highlights:

Day 1 – Baiyoke Sky Hotel with a 360-degree revolving roof deck (i think twas at the 84 flr)
Day 2 – Walking Street, Pattaya (the red light district)
Day 3 - Parasail and Jet Ski at Pattaya beach, Floating market
Day 4 – Safari world
Day 5 – Grand Palace

For next year, I hope I could go to Malaysia.

oN a DiEt?

It's my third week in the gym and i know, I'm not yet losing any pounds but I enjoy my time there, especially with the dance class. But seriously, I need to lose weight. These are things I've done so far to help me in my diet:

- gym
- eat oats for dinner
- less softdinks, coffe
- no junk food
- goodbye redhorse, hello gilbeys premium :)

Find Me Here
Speak To Me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
You are the light
That's leading me
To the place where I find peace again.

You are the strength, that keeps me walking.
You are the hope, that keeps me trusting.
You are the light to my soul.
You are my purpose...you're everything.

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

You calm the storms, and you give me rest.
You hold me in your hands, you won't let me fall.
You steal my heart, and you take my breath away.
Would you take me in? Take me deeper now?

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?
And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Cause you're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything,everything
You're all I want your all I need
You're everything, everything.
You're all I want you're all I need.
You're everything, everything
You're all I want you're all I need, you're everything, everything.

And How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?
How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

84 days before Christmas and I haven’t bought any presents yet. I guess I have to go with the flow of the holiday rush. As for my friends abroad, custom christmas cards would be perfect for them. It’s been a while since I sent one. It would still be nice to be traditional and send it by snail mail than sending e-cards or have your greetings through Facebook or Friendster.
I miss the days when I was getting mails from the postman. It was kind of exciting to rip off the envelope during those days and check right away the name of the sender.

Can't go to Phuket for my Bangkok trip next month. The plane tickets are expensive due to the holiday during that time. Our other options would be Pattaya and Koh Samet Island, where you can find affordable accommodations. Well, what matters anyway is that i'll have good company when i get there. I'll be spending time with Chanty and Vianne, and there's a gazillion of things to talk about.
See yah in a month girls.

BaKiNg cLaSs

I have a plan for November, that is, to attend a baking class. I have chosen a class at Kerri’s Bake Stop, the Baking Basics 101. The course aims to equip beginners with the procedures and techniques of baking, and to bake with confidence. There will be 2 recipes per session, and it would include choco chip cookies, muffins, apple pies, brownies, chocolate cupcakes and we get to decorate our own cupcakes. Once I’ve learned the basics, I’ll definitely take the Hand-on fondant class next.
It would really be nice to get serious with baking and start a business. Then I could bake Chy’s cupcakes and take orders for Christmas and other occasions. Then people will blog about my cakes, and I will have my own calling cards, not like those free business cards though that they offer online, you’ll only end up spending more.

PuT yOuR rEcOrDs On

Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.

Maybe sometimes, we've got it wrong, but it's alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don't you hesitate.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Blue as the sky, sunburnt and lonely,
Sipping tea in the bar by the roadside,
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other boys fool you,
Got to love that afro hair do.

Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid, but it's alright
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change.
Don't you think it's strange?

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

'Twas more than I could take, pity for pity's sake
Some nights kept me awake, I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realise, that you don't even have to try any longer?
Do what you want to.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

sAnTa iS aLmOsT hErE

It’s the start of the –ber month. Radio stations are already playing songs about Santa, reindeers, snowman and mistletoe. It just means that Christmas is fast approaching. Even the cold air outside tells you that. I already thought about my wish list and will be posting it soon. I will also start listing names for whom I will buy a gift. I want to buy gifts early for my friends if I could go shopping. At least I could scratch out half of the list before Christmas comes.
It pretty exciting this year since close family and friends are coming home like Ate, Kuya and Chy, and my bestfriend Chanty.

LaSaGnA - part2

This is the pasta I used, 250g of San Remo instant lasagnaPrepare the meat sauce first:
oil
garlic
onions
ground beef (500g)
tomato paste (5 tbsps)
tomato sauce (600g)
salt and pepper
nutmeg

Then the white sauce:
butter (2 tbsp)
flour (2 tbsp)
1 big can of evaporated milk
quickmelt cheese (125g)

Once the sauce is done, arrange it in the baking dish starting with the pasta, then the meat sauce and the white sauce. You can have up to 4 layers. Make sure each layer is fully covered with sauce to keep the moisture.

After the last layer, top it with grated quickmelt cheese.
Bake it for45 mins.

LaSaGnA - part1

Part I because I still might post my lasagna recipe and the photos. I'm just so lazy to do that right now.

I baked lasagna today and twas surprisingly yummy. Yesterday, I planned to bake cookies, but when I was in the grocery earlier, I changed my mind when I found a lasagna box with a label, no pre-cooking needed. It skips step 1 in the preparation. Other steps would be cooking the meat sauce, the white sauce and baking everything. You can actually do a lot of variations with your ingredients. With what I baked in a 11"x7" baking dish, everything cost around 400 pesos. Not bad, for a delicious midnight snack.

rOoMiE

I took photos of our bedrooms earlier and I realized that mine looks dull. I don’t like the silky white sheet on my bed. The room’s paint is very light, so a light-colored sheet won’t fit. It really looks boring. I want to give my room a bolder look. I wish I could shop for designer Bedding Sets. The walls too, are empty. I wish I could find something for the room in the mall tomorrow. I’ve been checking out the shops in Tagbilaran last week, but I found nothing to decorate my room. I might check again. I want to buy furniture too, but that’s not the priority for now. I’m saving for the next project in the living room, and my Bangkok trip.
*******
Dad’s going home tomorrow, and we need to pick him up early at the port. I need to be up at 6am. I’m not yet sleepy since I woke up late today. Well, a bottle of ice cold SanMig Light might help. Have a happy weekend!

I'm comin' home, I've done my time
Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine
If you received my letter telling you I'd soon be free
Then you'll know just what to do
If you still want me
If you still want me
Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the old oak tree
It's been three long years
Do ya still want me?
If I don't see a ribbon round the old oak tree
I'll stay on the bus
Forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree

Bus driver, please look for me
'cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see
I'm really still in prison
And my love, she holds the key
A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free
I wrote and told her please

Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree
It's been three long years
Do ya still want me?
If I don't see a ribbon round the old oak tree
I'll stay on the bus
Forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree

Now the whole damned bus is cheerin'
And I can't believe I see
A hundred yellow ribbons round the old oak tree

I'm comin' home

gEtTiNg MBT Shoes?

I miss shopping, for shoes in particular. I hope I could do that this weekend with An-an using her gift certificate. Luckily, she got them today. I no longer want to use her credit card for shopping; I still owe her a lot.
I also miss wearing high-heeled footwear but with the kind of work I have, it’s not a necessity to have more of this type. Unlike when I worked in a call center, every female employee is required to wear at least 2-inch heels. So it’s like everyday, is a battle of the best high heels. It just feels sexy when I’m a wearing a 3-inch heel. Unhappily, the last pair of heels I bought is still giving me painful blisters at the back of my ankle. I usually get blisters for the first or second time wearing it, but I have already worn it a couple of times, it’s no longer new. Too bad, I love that pair. So it would be nice if I can find something more comfortable. Maybe I could find more choices from Beautifeel Shoes or from MBT Shoes. MBT specializes in providing comfort and style to their products, and several styles to choose from sandals, casual, and walking footwear.

Power outage strikes again for the 2nd time this week
And I noticed few things

Before, the first thing we would look for would be a match or flashlight
Now, everyone quickly gets his/her cellphone for light

Before, we have to wait longer before you have electricity back
Now, you can call BOHECO immediately to report the outage

Before, you listen to scary stories from your elder sister :)
Now, you have your iPod while waiting for electricity to be back on

gEt iT on DirecTV

I love the rain when I’m at home, but what I don’t love is when our DSL is disconnected and our cable loses its signal. It happens a lot for the past few days. They have poor reception here; you’ll wish you had Direct TV HD. With DirecTV, everybody in the family can now watch a pay-per-view subscription of Pacman’s fight, which I hope will be against Mayweather. That will be more challenging to watch, and I believe it would also last longer. Well, there already a lot of companies offering great packages that tailor fit viewers preferences in television and you usually get better deals getting it online.

Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you, my friend, will see
You've got a friend in me
(you've got a friend in me)

Ben, you're always running here and there
You feel you're not wanted anywhere
If you ever look behind
And don't like what you find
There's something you should know
You've got a place to go
(you've got a place to go)

I used to say "I" and "me"
Now it's "us", now it's "we"
I used to say "I" and "me"
Now it's "us", now it's "we"
Ben, most people would turn you away
I don't listen to a word they say
They don't see you as I do
I wish they would try to
I'm sure they'd think again
If they had a friend like Ben
(a friend) Like Ben
(like Ben) Like Ben

I watched Michael Jackson's memorial service over CNN. I like Mariah's performance. It's just not the usual, seeing her with sexy clothes, singing during her concert. It sounded real and she's just like practicing but still have a stunning voice.

Stevie Wonder's song, "I Neve Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer" was so heartbreaking, as well as the words from Brooke Shields, Marlon Jackson and Magic Johnson.

Goodbye MJ, your music will live forever.

Tomorrow is badminton day! I don’t know exactly the rules of the game. I just play to sweat. It’s more fun than going to the gym and less expensive. I believe it also helps in having longer hours of sound sleep. I’m glad I no longer experience sleep apnea, or else I would need a CPAP Machines so I can sleep comfortably.

We played badminton today at Montebello, Banilad. It's walking distance from the office. We plan to have it every TTh and Saturday. We paid 100php per head and that's play all you can from 8am to 2pm. Finally, I can now burn my body fat. I wanted to go to the gym but it's more expensive. I also wanted to join ballroom dancing but I just can't find dance studios nearby.

I thought I could beat the rain. Just got off the jeepney when it started raining. I did not expect that the rain would give a sudden heavy pour on me while running. Yes, I ran as fast as I could, hoping I could make it to the gates of DWC. But it’s just not my day, and so I can only sing “Heto ako, basang-basa sa ulan Walang masisilungan, walang malalapitan” Where are the people who promised me, “You can stand under my umbrella ella ella, eh eh eh”.

I just hope I won’t get sick tonight.

Browsing for Bedroom Sets interests me nowadays. It’s nice to change the look and feel of the room. Lately, been thinking of giving it a modern look with this Cinnamon Modern Comforter Set.
The design is simple, yet appealing. I’m not sure though if this fits the pink paint in my bedroom. Anyway, I could try it with different combinations, while keeping the simplicity and style. And I need to look for room decorations too. I was thinking of wall paintings, lamps, rugs, vases, beanbags and other bedroom vanities to fill it. The room just looks empty, but the advantage of it is, it’s easier to clean.

3. Nancy Drew (so high school)
4. The Other End of the Line (call center agents can relate)

CoUnTiNg bLuE cArS

Must have been mid afternoon
I could tell by how far the child's shadow stretched out and
He walked with a purpose
In his sneakers, down the street
He had, many questions
Like children often do
He said,
Tell me all your thoughts on God?
Tell me am I very far?

Must of been late afternoon
On our way the sun broke free of the clouds
We count only blue cars
Skip the cracks, in the street
And ask many questions
Like children often do
We said,
Tell me all your thoughts on God?
'Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God,
Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very far -
Am I very far now?

Its getting cold picked up the pace
How our shoes make hard noises in this place
Our clothes are stained
We pass many, cross eyed people
And ask many questions
Like children often do

Tell me all your thoughts on God?
'Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God?
'Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very far?
Am I very far now
Am I very far now
Am I very far now

I sent a screaming email to Globe, our ISP, saying that I don’t get my money’s worth. I wouldn’t actually mind if I don’t use it for work. They really have bad service. Twice this month, they have a system restoration in the Visayas area, which lasted for 8 hours. I called their hotline and vented out my frustrations, but I don’t think, the customer service representative got my point, so I had to email them, good thing I got a response. They should give me the 2-day refund I asked from their billing department. I just hope their broadband service can soon accommodate voice over ip services.

I’m back in the city. I kinda miss the city life here, but I’m also missing my room at home. I miss my queen size bed and my closet, which I don’t have in my boarding house. Well, the I don’t like is that, my room is like oven in the afternoon. It really needs good air conditioning especially that it’s summer. It doesn’t really bother me that much though since I spend most of my time in our living room, working. But if Ate Yen is generous enough to buy a unit, then why not? I’ll take care of the electricity bill. :)

That's fiesta in Bohol. It's a grand celebration.

Fiesta is over but the plan for renovation is not. We are still planning for a bigger terrace, which will look good with rustic furniture, to create a homey effect, a place to relax and have your cup of coffee.

We also had fruit salad, just forgot to take a pic.

I’m so busy at home preparing for the fiesta. It’s like a month long preparation for a 2-day celebration. Today, the sofa and the bed were delivered. I spent most of my time arranging and preparing the new room. I’m tired but so glad that the closet’s ready. I already have a place for my handbags.

My craving for bags and shoes strikes again because of SNN. They have a portion where they raid celebrities’ bags. I so envy them, with their ostrich bags and Italian leather handbags. So far, Gretchen is most organized. Inside her big bag, are several pouches to categorize her stuff. I also like Iya and Cheska’s choice. Well, I’m just glad I’m not in the city, less temptation for shopping.

I bought a new 4-piece set of bed sheet today, with 2 pillowcases, 1 flat sheet and 1 fitted. It's just a simple, striped, orange sheet. I just hope it will look good in my new room. At first I was thinking of getting a comforter, but the room is not yet air-conditioned, so maybe next time. I'm only buying the air cooler. Whew! I'm gonna be so busy shopping tomorrow, including the sofa and other stuff needed for the fiesta. Well, I'm happy to help mom and dad with home management, and our greenie is a big help too.

For mother's day, I'm planning to bring mom to the salon if she has the time.

i'lL bE tHeRe FoR yOu (rEmBrAnDtS)

So no one told you life was gonna be this way
Your jobs a joke, you're broke, your love life's D.O.A.

It's like you're always stuck in second gear
And it hasn't been your day, your week, your month,
or even your year
but..

I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

You're still in bed at ten
And work began at eight
You've burned your breakfast
So far... things are goin' great

Your mother warned you there'd be days like these
Oh but she didn't tell you when the world has brought
You down to your knees that...

I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you're the only one who knows
What it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even at my worst I'm best with you, yeah

It's like you're always stuck in second gear
And it hasn't been your day, your week, your month,
or even your year...

I'll be there for you
When the rain starts to pour
I'll be there for you
Like I've been there before
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

I'll be there for you
I'll be there for you
I'll be there for you
'Cuz you're there for me too...

I went to banana book today at SM to submit photos of our Disney trip. I'm glad they have more options now for their travel theme. I actually want to do the layout but I have no time, deadlines are killing me at work. Anyway, before I went to the office, i dropped by Starbucks to get my favorite drink and tadada! I got lucky again! The receipt generated a survey with a free tall beverage of my choice, once I'm done with the online survey. I just love Starbucks.

One of the addicting word games that I love is Hangman. I used to pay this when I was a kid; it was the paper version though. But with the technology we have right now, who needs paper when you can play it online. I like the Countries category the most. It’s just a simple guessing game by clicking on the letters you think are in the word to be guessed. I’m a fan of this game especially during break time at work. Make sure you don’t reach seven incorrect letters or else, the poor man will be hung. Other categories to choose from are Animals, Body Parts, Fruits, Girl Names and Kitchen tools. Simple, isn’t it

i'M SiCk

I'm sick, just like Chy. I have cough and colds too and I feel a bit feverish. It started last Saturday and if this gets worse, I might go home to Bohol before the week ends (mamista diay to).
-----
I'm done reading, actually listening to Twilight audiobook, and now I'm starting with New Moon.
-----
I was laughing yesterday, thinking how kawawa Monday is. I was browsing my Facebook account and they all blame it on Monday, like : Monday blues, Monday sickness, lazy Monday, sick Monday.... Maybe it was because of the heavy rain last Sunday that made everyone in the city, feel tired and sick.

I love Bossa; it’s the type of music I’d love to hear when hanging out at coffee shops. The perfect muzak if you’re at café’s just reading books, chillin’ out with friends or simply relaxin’. Some of my favorites are:

At 17 Sitti
I didn't know I was looking for Love
Bridges
Waters of march
Will you still love me tomorrow
For No One

And I think my voice is fit for Bossa.... hehehhe

Finally, we checked out the apartment today, which was recommended by Ethel. We’ve been looking for apartment for rent since I don’t know when. We have viewed several, and this one is close to what my sister and I need. The place is lovely and the location is perfect. And the curtains made it lovelier. The place is close to a water-refilling station and a laundry shop and some restaurants. Once we have the AC and internet installed, I’ll be fine working at home. What I’m excited about the most is the mini kitchen. I can now cook at least during weekends. It means more groceries, not junk food or chocolates this time but maybe more of something that I can cook. I would never worry about that with the help of Terri’s list and the grocery coupons. It will definitely help us save. Well, we really have to save more if we decide to move there since it’s more expensive that what we are renting now. We are 95% sure that we’ll take it; we don’t have any other options anyway.

My vibes are good with the place and our housemate to be is nice, so I don’t think we’ll have a problem with that.

hU iS tHe....

I was browsing at some old emails and I found this forwarded joke that still makes me laugh out loud.

Hu's The President?

Playwright Jim Sherman wrote this today after Hu Jintao was named chief of the Communist Party in China.
HU'S ON FIRST By James Sherman (We take you now to the Oval Office.)

George: Condi! Nice to see you. What's happening?
Condi: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China.
George: Great. Lay it on me.
Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.
George: That's what I want to know.
Condi: That's what I'm telling you.
George: That's what I'm asking you. Who is the new leader of China?
Condi: Yes.
George: I mean the fellow's name.
Condi: Hu.
George: The guy in China.
Condi: Hu.
George: The new leader of China.
Condi: Hu.
George: The Chinaman!
Condi: Hu is leading China.
George: Now whaddya' asking me for?
Condi: I'm telling you Hu is leading China.
George: Well, I'm asking you. Who is leading China?
Condi: That's the man's name.
George: That's who's name?
Condi: Yes.
George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of
China?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yassir? Yassir Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the
Middle East.
Condi: That's correct.
George: Then who is in China?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yassir is in China?
Condi: No, sir.
George: Then who is?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yassir?
Condi: No, sir.
George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of
China. Get me the Secretary General of the U.N. on the phone.
Condi: Kofi?
George: No, thanks.
Condi: You want Kofi?
George: No.
Condi: You don't want Kofi.
George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk.
And
then get me the U.N.
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Not Yassir! The guy at the U.N.
Condi: Kofi?
George: Milk! Will you please make the call?
Condi: And call who?
George: Who is the guy at the U.N?
Condi: Hu is the guy in China.
George: Will you stay out of China?!
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the
U.N.
Condi: Kofi.
George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone.
Condi picks up the phone.)
Condi: Rice, here.
George: Rice? Good idea. And a couple of egg rolls, too. Maybe we
should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can you get
Chinese food in the Middle East?

Pay Day Loan

Getting a loan is now easier these days with Pay Day Loan. This service is actually better than the emergency cash provided by most credit card companies. The good thing about this is it’s available all over the US and the best thing is, it’s not dependent on your credit score. Even if you have a bad credit, you can still be approved, so long as you can provide the basic requirements online. You don’t need to line up in banks or look for a fax machine since you can apply online 24/7. This type of loan can accommodate maximum of $1500, so if you need more than that, then you should apply for personal loans.

What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm going to try with a little help from my friends

What do I do when my love is away?
(Does it worry you to be alone?)
How do I feel by the end of the day?
(Are you sad because you're on your own?)
No I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm going to try with a little help from my friends

(Do you need anybody?)
I need somebody to love
(Could it be anybody?)
I want somebody to love

(Would you believe in a love at first sight?)
Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time
(What do you see when you turn out the light?)
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Oh I'm going to try with a little help from my friends

(Do you need anybody?)
I just need somebody to love
(Could it be anybody?)
I want somebody to love

Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm going to try with a little help from my friends
Oh I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends
With a little help from my friends

There are lots of things why I love home-based type of work:

1. I don’t need to wake up early, but of course I need to discipline myself or else, I’ll oversleep.
2. I can go home anytime to Bohol and relax, good thing we already have a DSL connection. And of course, I can go home for the annual fiesta this May.
3. I can travel often and not worry about filing service incentive leaves. This is what I love most. Just like last year, I went to Singapore, and stay there for 2 months. Last month, we went to Hong Kong for 5 days. By the end of the month, we plan to go to Apo Island and maybe by July, Boracay.
4. I don’t need to dress up all the time – well, could be a con sometimes.

I’m glad to be here, we don’t really feel the recession. Well, if you want schedule flexibility, check out http://www.PaidIdea.com and see how you can get opportunities.

nEw BedRoOm

I had to stay at Gloria Jean's coffee shop last weekend to work. I love it there, fast and free internet, and if you get lucky, there's no charge for the electricity. :) After work, I watched the following movies and had fun:

1. My Best Friend's Girl
2. Bedtime Stories
3. Accidental Husband
4. Role Model

The next weekends will always be in work mode, I have to save hard and work harder to help with the expenses for our home's renovation. We also have to shop for our new bedroom. We need new comfortable bed, comforter, dresser with a mirror, a lamp would be nice too. The AC unit will be last on my list, I can still use our old electric fan.

A small, neat bedroom like this would be nice..

Hong Kong week is finally here, but I haven’t done my assignment. I’m supposed to take care of our Macau itinerary. Thanks to Drew and Marco for sharing their notes. Here’s what’s on my list so far:

1. Saint Paul’s Ruins and Monte Fortress
2. Senado Square
3. Macau Tower
4. Fisherman’s wharf
5. Nam Van Lake Cybernetic Fountain
6. Venetian Hotel

It will only be a day tour to Macau, which is scheduled on Saturday. We’re kind of excited to visit Venetian and check out their casino, their reviews are excellent. And it’s actually better to visit there in the morning since it’s less crowded. I want to try blackjack, the only casino game where the odds can be in your favour. Well, I would love to make $1000+ consistently with blackjack , and next thing would be shop shop shop!!!!

Another fun filled night with ex-etel employees (except for Don). The gathering was made possible by our very own Caveman. Nakalugsong tawn ang caveman and gimingaw na siya sa kinabuhi sa ciudad ug magstorya ug ininglish. hehehe. Started with dinner at Moon Cafe, The Walk, then went to Andoy's mansion for videoke.

Wala nagbinunTAGAY coz the Caveman had an early flight back to his cave..

So many faces, so many races
Different voices, different choices
Some are mad, while others laugh
Some live alone with no better half
Others grieve while others curse
And others mourn behind a big black hearse
Some are pure and some half-bred
Some are sober and some are wasted
Some are rich because of fate and
Some are poor with no food on their plate
Some stand out while others blend
Some are fat and stout while some are thin
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most

Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin' round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world

Some are great and some are few
Others lie while some tell the truth
Some say poems and some do sing
Others sing through their guitar strings
Some know it all while some act dumb
Let the bassline strum to the bang of the drum
Some can swim while some will sink
And some will find their minds and think
Others walk while others run
You can't talk peace and have a gun
Some are hurt and start to cry
Don't ask me how don't ask me why
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most

Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin' round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world

As I was browsing the net for photos of Chace Crawford, I came across a fun website, InStyle.com. You just upload your photos and see how you look in celebrities hairstyle. Try it, it’s fun.
By the way, I’m not a fan of Nate in Gossip Girl, I just love the fine-looking Chace. He’s so Ka-ka…
Below are the photos I’ve uploaded.. Walay lingaw.

TiReD eYeS

I’ve been working at home since yesterday because my tooth jacket is under maintenance. Whew, imagine how funny my face looks, right now. That’s also the reason why I had noodles for dinner, I can’t go out with a tooth missing. I’m just glad it’s not that warm today, or else, our room would be as hot as an oven.
I’m having a bad headache. Maybe it’s a problem with my eyes, or maybe the slow internet connection is giving me headache. I face my computer for more than 8 hours a day and sometimes I really need to look very closely to the monitor for my mock up. Anyway, I believe I need a pair of eyeglasses or maybe visit the optometrist first. I was browsing the net and came across Zenni Optical. They have inexpensive and trendy pairs, which won’t make you, look like a geek. Their site is actually recommended by the New York Times for its affordable, standard glasses. Their website is user friendly, very helpful. They have a guide or description when you set the specifications of your prescription plus a large view of the eyeglasses.
This is my pick from Women’s Fashion category. I like the girly, floral design and it makes you look smart.

1st oN mY 25th

I had my first Sky Experience Adventure at Crown Regency on the night before my birthday. We took the edge coaster on the 38th floor, which goes around the edge of the building and tilts the seats up to 55 degrees. The tilting was kinda scary, but it will be a little bit boring if you don't tilt it to the max.
Details printed on my certificate.

Ready or not, I'm turning 25 this Sunday. 25 sounds old, but i don't really feel that way. I read an article about how women usually complain about wrinkles and their figures as they get old. We are more concerned on achieving our ideal physique. Well, I'm guilty, but not really doing anything about it. Being old is actually best is some things - old book best to read, old wood best to burn, old wine best to drink. It only matters if you're a cheese. :)
*****************
Tomorrow, my parents are coming over to celebrate my birthday, and An-an's gift will be our hotel accommodation. Yipee....
Cating, I know you tried your best to convince her that we stay at Marco Polo or Club Ultima, but you were not successful at it, so I'll expect a gift from you. See you on Monday. Luv y'all.

Gotta clean up my desk now and go home.

SATURDAY

Had lunch with An-an at Lamesa Grill SM Cebu branch. They have BAD customer service. Their waiters are just so lousy and they're not doing their job, or maybe they didn't have training on how to do their job well. So, when we got the receipt and their feedback form, well, 98% of the items were rated BAD. I hope the waiters were honest enough to forward the form to their manager. It was not attached to the receipt, so they can just throw it away if they want to.

After lunch, we visited i-Store and it was worse. The first guy who entertained us was really rude. We were asking questions about a certain product, but he did not take us seriously, he just left us coz he had to do other stuff, without even excusing himself. So we told the other lady about what happened and we found out that they don't work on commission, so maybe that's why he's not that interested in entertaining us.

If only we're mean girls.... Grrrrrrrrrrrrr... Anyway, the day ended superbly.

SUNDAY

Got an early birthday present from Ate Karen, bag from Girbaud. Yipee!!!

Thanks to Cattski for sending me the lyrics. I love their songs and the lyrics. Please support their upcoming album, SOUND MINDS SPEAK VOLUMES.

QUESTIONS
so many questions
the answers are lies
so many things to keep inside
these are my thoughts
that need real meaning
though i've been so blind
in time i will find
but what are my chances with you
will i ever be able to anwer your questions
the very same questions, i asked of myself
so many questions, that turn to conclusions
so many things to figure out
these are my fears, the effects of your inquiries
these are the things you do to me
but is this me
why am i here, what am i doing
where am i going
what do you want from me
what do i have to do
what am i to you
why do i complain
why do i seem to lose control
over these questions
these unending questions
that you never cease to ask of me
you can never change me
cause this is me
why am i here, what am i doing
where am i going
what do you want from me
what do i have to do
what am i to you
what am i to you

I'll say goodbye to a busy January and hello to my birthday month, February!
I'm turning 25 in a couple of weeks so I’ll start sharing my wish list.
New Ford would be on top of my list (dream on!), second would be trip to Hong Kong plus shopping spree (dream will come true), a nice shoulder bag, Charles and Keith sunglasses.

It's a cheesecake Friday - it used to be redhorse Friday. But I'm stuck here in the office, facing my gazillion emails and bug reports. I'll probably be home by 5am.

Ever since I was a child
You always said that I should understand the rules
You take some and give less
Sit high above the rest...don't you

As I ask a simple question
Cuts me off with his reply
He's been practicing for decades
Now he thinks I have the time
He flows in and out of riddles
Looking me straight in the eye
But it seems like something's missing
From the days when he was more my size

Chorus:
Ten years older and I've finally found my pride
This old man comes rolling home to die
Old feelings make it hard to decide
Just what it means to me

Everything exists 'tween black and white
You can twist and distort the most blatant of lies
Or just offer up solutions
Practiced only in your mind
I lost half my life to wisdom
So forgive me if I

Come off sounding bitter
If my words push you away
If I seem surprised to see you
Lying here in front of me
Just consider what you're asking
And give me a little time
I'm still having trouble breathing
Cuz up to now I've never seen you cry

(Chorus)

No son of mine Should I be sleeping
No son of mine As if you never understood
That I don't need your help
Don't have to save me from myself
Or take me out to prove
That I should live my life like you

As I ask a simple question
Cuts me off with his reply
He's been practicing for decades
But I am listening this time
He flows in and out of riddles
Stories change without the wine
But at least he seems much clearer on
How it feels to be my size

(Chorus)

Ten years older and I've finally found my pride
This old man comes rolling home to die
Old feelings make it harder to see
Just what it means to me
What it means to me
What it means to me
What it means to me

I used Vonage today and it's still working great. I'm currently in Cebu and I talked to my boss in the US, and the connection is sooo clear. Unfortunately, I can't really use their "over 20 free features", since the line is for official use only, and we don't have the unlimited plan. I can still recall their star feats like, *69, *70, *67 and much more. I also love their N11 dialing, plus their customer service reps are very helpful. Kudos to you, Vonage. :)

I got my photo book from Banana Book last December, and I'm lovin' it.

soft cover

It takes about 4 days to process after you confirm the layout of the book. I paid approx 1000php for a 20-page book, which accommodated the 95 pictures that I submitted.
For those who are interested, you can visit their stall located in the Northwing area of SM Cebu.
