It was my second time to visit Camiguin island and I got to explore the island better. It really is a place for relaxation, not party. We went there during Lanzones festival, but we opted not to go out and join the crowd. For me, the parade was not that big a deal compared to Sinulog or even Sandugo, so you really won’t be missing a lot if you don’t watch the parade.

We stayed at Camiguin Island Beach and Country Club, thanks to Jack for the big discount.

Here’s our itinerary:On our first day, Friday, we took Paras Seacat fast craft, which departed at 1:30pm from Jagna, Bohol. Travel time is approximately 2.5 hours to Benoni port in Camiguin (one way costs 400php).  The resort is a bit far from the center of Mambajao, so we asked somebody from the resort to drive us there for dinner. That was actually our main problem while staying there, can’t find good restaurants in the center of Mambajao.

The next day, we decided to rent a motorbike, our best option. It was for 500/day. We rented it for 2 days. From our location in Anito, Mambajao, the nearest spot is Katibawasan falls, so we went there first. Entrance fee is 20php/head.  It’s approximately 3 km from highway.

We then proceeded to Ardent hot spring, 3-4km from highway. The entrance fee is 30php/head.  We stayed there for several hours since the water is really relaxing. We had lunch at their restaurant.

Next stop is sunken cemetery. If you want to go to the big cross, they have boat for rent, 100php per boat (max of 10 pax).  But since we were only 2, they only charged us 50php.

After that, we proceeded to the Sto Nino cold spring. Entrance fee is 20php/head. It was really cold, and still relaxing after the long drive. It was really hot that day. We left the spring at 6pm and drove straight from Catarman to Sagay so we can really drive around the island.

Another long drive til we arrived at J&A Fishpen for our dinner. I’d say it was the best meal in our whole stay in Camiguin. After our dinner, we went straight to the resort.

The next day, we woke up at 5:30am. We first went to the center of Mambajao to buy some food and drinks for our baon for White Island. Then we went straight to Yumbing area. You will see several signs there that would direct you to places where you can rent boat to White Island. We were able to rent the boat for 400 pesos. We only stayed at White Island until 9am, since it was already very hot.

We then decided to go back to Ardent hot spring, stayed for 2 hours then transferred to Soda swimming pool. Entrance fee is 20 pesos and we rented a cottage for 50 pesos since we had our lunch there.  Then we went back to the resort and spent the rest of the afternoon at the resort’s swimming pool.

We went home the next day, Monday, and of course, bought their Pastel and few kilos of Lanzones. It’s really cheap during the festival. In Mambajao, you can find 20/kilo. I thought I could find that price in the port area, but the cheapest there is already 35/kilo.
