Not a good start for CNY. Just woke up and I shouldn't have checked my FB feeds, some news are so disheartening and annoying. Then NE monsoon is now weakening and the temperature’s starting to rise, transition is almost here and I'm not ready for summer. I don’t know why I’m not in a good mood on my rest day. :(
Well, I’d better listen to some chill + calm playlist and relax my mind, as well as my eyes.  It’s time for Kung Hei Fat Choy, let’s eat some tikoy!

Still in the mood for goal setting, and I am challenging myself to see good results at the end of the year and hoping this attitude of mine will last until the next cold season.

Back to normal

I was able to visit Alona in Panglao last Wednesday, and I was happy to see that everything's back to normal. The beach is now alive at night and the restobars are now filled with foreigners as entertainers play some classics, and gives the crowd a relaxing mood. Well, generally, seems like Bohol is ready for the peak season. In a matter two months, the sun's heat will start to kick in and summer will be in full blast.

I missed Sinulog to attend the annual Project Review Analysis in Manila. It was kind of exhausting for me as I was tasked to rapporteur for the whole day of the1st day, then was also tasked to make the summary in PowerPoint presentation during the 2n day. But the important thing is it was another successful gathering with the executives, and it was nice to know the plans of the agency especially that most of the project are leaning toward modernization. It sounds like each division has good plans and I hope I will also have good plans and goals for myself this year so that next year, I could have a good smile when I review this bold red planners:

George & Ringo

One of the spots I visited in Sydney is the Powerhouse Museum. I specifically chose this coz of their exhibition on The Beatles' visit in Australia in June 1964. I was definitely engrossed with the memorabilia displayed, from Lennon's suit during the concert, to the original communication letters for the said event, and this one was my favorite:
I also kept coming back at the jukebox section so I could choose to play my favorite Beatles song while exploring that section. There were exhibits where you get to listen to their radio interviews in Sydney, as well as watch several video clips of their arrival. I should have come earlier; I spent several hours in that section alone, which left me few hours for the other floors of the museum.

Thumbs up to Disney's Frozen. I couldn't help but cry during the scene when Anna sang "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman", it was just so cute and emotional. Then the "Let It Go" scene, (my last song syndrome for the past days) was really surprising as it showed how powerful Elsa was. But the movie wouldn't be that good if not for Olaf. His character brought humor to the movie. A perfect movie for the family as it teaches, strength, compassion and most of all, the act of true love.

On the other side of the Earth, this movie probably seemed real to those who are experiencing the polar vortex and are now in deep deep deep snow and cold. Well, another extreme weather that proves climate change, thus a need for serious adaptation.

18 days of summer

I had an awesome summer Christmas holiday in Sydney. While some parts of America are experiencing winter's chill, down under, we got to enjoy sunshine as we wander around the beautiful spots around the city. So in 18 days, I was able to visit 11 wonderful attractions.

Stop 1: Featherdale Wildlife Park

Stop 2: Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge and The Rocks

Stop 3: Bicentennial Park

Stop 4: Manly Beach

Stop 5: Museum of Contemporary Art

Stop 6: Bundeena Beach

Stop 7: Sydney International Regatta Centre

Stop 8: Darling Harbour

Stop 9: Blue Mountains

Stop 10: Lake Parramatta

Stop 11: Powerhouse Museum

And of course, there's this lovely home in Richmond St where we spend our Christmas and New Year

Tattoo wifi

Found a good deal for my internet connection. I bought the Tattoo mobile wifi from globe and added a plan for unlimited surfing. The device costs 2000 pesos and the unlimited plans is almost 600. The downside though is the battery life; it only lasts for about 4 hours so you really need to plug it in most of the time. But it still works for me since I usually just use it while I'm in my boarding house and I could still maximise it as I could connect my 4 devices. It's time to upgrade anyway coz I was only using the prepaid stick.

Happy 2014!

It was indeed a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Had an awesome end of 2013 and a perfect start of 2014 with my family around.

The start of another year gives me more excitement knowing that I don't exactly know what's in store for me for the next 365 days - an earthquake, typhoon, lotto jackpot maybe, anything could happen. So I pray that I will be able to handle the trials I will encounter along the way and I hope I would be able to see more of the oceans, the lakes, the forests, the mountains. I am just so much inspired by nature's beauty while in Sydney, kinda gives you a different level of joy. I am so awed by the beautiful sceneries; you won’t mind the summer’s heat. I am so thankful I am here and I hope I could explore more of nature this year.
